Oh my goodness it has been ages since I have had the urge to hop on and write something. What can I say, I'm a busy gal. It has been close to two years since my last post so I'll give a little update on my life. I am very much still in school, it is my final semester as an undergrad and I will be starting graduate school in the fall (fingers crossed!), I have been dating the most amazing man for the past two years that I plan on marrying after the hopeful graduation from grad school.
Me and my Love!
So let's just say that time to blog has been sparse. I was just sitting on my bed this evening and thinking, this is my last semester and it's a pretty easy one, maybe I should start blogging before all the madness of grad school begins. So people I am back and I am going to be trying my hardest to give some love to this little neglected blog of mine.
Today marks the release of Taylor Swift's new album Red, and make no mistake I bought that cd as soon as I could get my hands on it. I just wanted to share some of my favorite songs for the album so far.
I Knew You Were Trouble
Red
Treacherous
And of course, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
These are just my favorites at the moment I'm sure I'll enjoy other more just depending on the mood I'm in. Please enjoy!
Yep that's right midterms suck. They made me stress like no other. One night I thought I was going to die because I had an essay due and a math exam all on the next day. Luckily though I made it through with five As and one B! I did it y'all I made it more than halfway through my first semester of college and I have great grades. I attribute this fact to having to learn to study my junior and senior years of high school. So remember studying really pays off.
This is the tour of my dorm! I finally cleaned and now I am showing it to you. I was going to post a video of my room but that didn't work out to well. Also some additional info- I got a new email address it is listed in the about me section, feel free to email me! Or contact me on any of the other social network sites listed!. This is the hallway leading to my door.
This is Jasmine my roommate's dresser and tv also the end of her bed.
Jasmine's desk and bed which she happens to be lying on.
The food area! We have a mini fridge a microwave and a Keurig.
This the shower curtain and half of the shelf.
My bed and a weird maintenance door in the middle of it. I don't even know I can't open it and frankly I am to scared to.
My desk area and dresser. The four pictures hanging up there were actually drawn by my mother who is a wonderful artist.
The toliet portion of the bathroom and the cabinet that holds various things.
Me and the sink area. That white thing down there holds all our hair items.
The lovely view from the door and Jasmine on her bed.
This is the view of the entry way from the door and our closets. And that is all I got for this post sorry the layout was so strange. I don't even know what I am doing today.
So I am now back. I am in college and settled into my lovely dorm room. I'm having fun with friend! Studying my a** off (I have all As!) And generally enjoying life.
It is Monday night and I am in a bit of a lull. I was bored so I thought hey why not blog!? And blog I will. I will be using this blog post to update you with everything that is going on in my life currently.
1. Did I mention I am in college now? Well the school I go is the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM). I love it here I with insert a few pictures below of campus.
I love it here! The Bayou Desiard that runs right through campus is so pretty and nice to read by. Plus the fact that I live right on top of a Starbucks is a dream come true!
2. My dorm room is any old dark, dank, cinder block walled, cold and nightmarish place. It is really nice and open, I love it! Not to to mention the fact that my best friend is my roommate. I don't actually have any decent pictures of our room at this time but I will try t clean and take some good ones! I swear our dorm is cute. Until then I will post a picture of the view outside my window!
It is the lovely catholic church with the CCM right next to it. By the way that is a Jesus shrine.
3. When I get bored I like to do make up.
The first two are of course me and the last one is of my best friend/roommate.
4. You wanna know what my major is? I'm so glad you asked. I am a Speech Language Pathology major. don't know what that is her is a link to a really great explanation.
5. I have two favorite Youtubers I am basically obsessed with!
1) Landon Austin what can I say about Landon Austin. Well for one his voice is a gift from God, his vlogs are quirky and cute, and well he is just plain handsome. Did I mention he can sing.
2) Well she is exactly a real person but just a really funny alter ego. I am talking mirandasing08. Miranda is a lovely girl who truly believes she can sing and is famous. She does covers of popular song and of course she vlogs. I literally spent two whole days watching her covers and vlog videos. She keeps me laughing and helps me to remain sane with all the homework I should be doing.
I am really going to try to start blog once a week and keep everything up to date so stay tuned for more!
I am going to college for the first time in the fall. So naturally I am a little excited. Me and one of my best friends will be rooming together and we non-stop talk about what our dorm will look like, what our color scheme will be, and what kind of shower curtain should we get. So I decided to do a little blog post on what I want my room to look like.
First of is bedding:
I love navy and I love white. My style is preppy with a bit of quirk too it so I think this works nicely. This duvet cover is from pbteen.com
I really love this color and pattern. It is girly without being overly girly. You can this duvet at urbanoutfitters.com
Decor is up next:
A cute framed intial out of buttons is right up my alley. I found this on pinterest. It is a DIY project.
I really love these three mustaches on canvas they just make me smile. Also a DIY project. All you need is three blank canvas and some mustache decals.
I love this it is so colorful at pretty. Yet another DIY project.
A Couple weeks ago I took my senior pictures. Ya know those pictures that go in you invites to graduation. Well I was so happy with them I decided to post a few. The girl that took my pictures is Carla Downs you can find her on facebook at Carla Downs Photography!
In some of my pictures, since I like to read, had a book theme. So excited to graduate now!
Talk to ya'll later!
My high school graduation is getting closer and closer and I am so ready for it. Senioritis has fully kicked in and all my classes have slowed down to a trickle. I have already started shopping for college dorm ( I know i'm ridculous. I have a shopping problem). All me and my friends talk about lately is how much fun we will have and how close yet so far away summer is.
So I guess i'm ready to move out and meet new people and figure out what I wan to do with the rest of my life!
For some reason last week a few friends and myself started talking about rooming together in college. We talked about how we would arrange our suite and what colors our rooms would be, you know that kind of jazz. And then it hit me when I was talking to my mom about our plans. I am almost a legal adult. Next year I will be living on my own and calling my own shots and doing whatever I want. I was also thinking that wow, that's a major heap of responsiblity i'll be adding to my plate. Not that I don't already have some responsibilty of my own , I have a car I take care of and a dog, I also always wash my own clothes.
On top of all of that my little brother got his first truck this weekend. I know I say he's little but his is actually fifteen. But when I saw him sitting behind the wheel in the driveway I started to get misty. Call me sappy but in my eyes I still sometimes see him as that little boy that use to think macaroni was its own food group.
But at the moment I believe i'm ready to grow up and move out. Even though I will miss my mom and dad i'll probably be equally as happy to be on my on. But anywho I have a whole year until I start college. So until then i'll be doing a bit more of growing up.
So this summer I spent some time in one of the most beautiful and culturally rich countries, Italy.
For the most part of my trip I stayed in the reigion of Tuscany, which is where this photo was taken. If you want to get technical thsi photo was taken out of the bedroom I was staying in at my uncle and aunts villa.
Anywho, for me this trip was more than a vacation, it was a total eye opener into the odds and ins of another culture besides my own. And I learned that I must have been an Italian in another life. I just felt so at home there, everyone I met was so obliging and nice, everywhere you go there is a friendly face. And the food, oh my goodness the food. It is the best, Italian cooking is so simple and fresh but literally the best stuff I've ever put in my mouth.
I learned so much while I was there. It made me second guess what I wanted to do with my life. That to me alone maded the trip, the fact that I was so effected by the culture that I would pack up my whole life and move there on a moments notice. Not that I don't love where I come from. But for me I would love to be from a place where everywhere you went you saw history instead of Wal-mart.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love to travel for the historical and cultural differences part of it. And I think everyone should experince something like I did this summer. That doesn't mean that everyone should go to Italy just somewhere that makes you think about, well everything in a new light.
P.S. the italian men are a site to see themselves, they are best looking I have ever beheld.
This school year is my senior year of high school, you know the year your suppose to take it easy and goof off having the time of your life. Well, not me, every single one of my class is dual-credit (dual-credit is when you can take a college course in high school and get credit for both) and that means that studying will be my life. Even though I'm only taking three this semester and two next it is still alot of work
I know i shouldn't be complaining because I asked for the classes because I'm the kind of person that likes to be prepared for everything, even things I can't control (which I absolutely hate). Plus I'm getting my entire freshman year's worth of credits from this year and last for twenty bucks (books included). That sounds like a total steal to me!
There's a bit of a problem with one of the which would happen to be the one i'm most excited to take, Biology II or Biological Science 224. The problem is it only counts as an elective and some universities don't take it. Well, me being the planner I am will be taking it anyway even though according to the seniors of 2011 it is the hardest class at my high school. I don't care. The only way to a good education is to challenge yourself. I want to prepare myself for what I will be experincing next year. Call me crazy but i like to be prepared.
Well last week was Thanksgiving and I had a wonderful break. On one hand I live for breaks and on the other I just get so bored not seeing everyone for so look (and don't call me a nerd but I love to learn). So for Thanksgiving I'm thankful for school breaks not lasting forever.
So today I was looking on Sparknotes to for some "tough" homework questions, and figured out that they actually have some very cool blogs on there that I'm very interested in.
Another thing thats sort of bothering me is that a few of my friend have decided that they find another one of my friends very annoying and no longer want to be around them and well it's sort of effecting quite a few of my friend that are friend s with both parties. I want to hang out with both groups but the former doesn't want to be around the latter and now I'm very confused. Do I end up losing one but keeping the other or end up losing both of the parties?
So lately I haven't posted because I have been so busy! Last week was homecoming week so of course I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I don't think anything is more stressful throught the school year then homecoming which is even more stressful then testing week. On top of that my chemistry teacher (who is crazy!) decided to give an end of unit test which I FAILED- by the way I was so angry at myself I never fail things. So this morning I went to school at 7 to retake the quiz to get a better grade. But the thing I'm most excited about is our fall "mini" break that we are getting off monday and tuesday which is desperatly needed by most people. So over the four day weekend i will be finishing up some homework, sleeping, and hanging out with some friends nothing to stressful or crazy just laid back- which is exactly what I need.
The other day my idiotic neighbors left their trash can in the street. Well of course I hit it and it took my right side view mirror clean off. I was so upset and angry I will probably fall apart if and when i ever do any substanial damage to my car. So yesterday I went to the car fixin' place and they told me that it would cost just about $300- that is insane-so my parents are making me pay it all back and i can't get on the internet until its payed for. So you wonder why I am blogging now- I'm in the school library it's my class and I'm so bored. All I have to say is that is one expensive trash can.
So today I gave blood- I would recommend anyone to do it- The great thing about it is with your one pint of blood you can save 3 people's lives. So what confounds me is that half the people giving blood at my school today only did it to get out of class and get free food. That is totally ridiculous to me it was so rewarding to think that I could possibly save someone's life one day. Oh and one of my friends think that the blood bus is just a conspiracy to help vampires survive without having to feed on people- by the way they were totally joking they're not that crazy. So what I guess i'm saying is to do the right thing for the right reasons and only good will come to you in the end.
Well this is my first post ever. I don't really know what to say so first I guess I'll tell you about myself: I am 16 years of age, and finally free from my mom taking me everywhere. I love to laugh if you have a good sense of humor and make me laugh you will be my friend. I play soccer at my high school and I love it I think thats because you can be aggresive with out offending people... to much. I'm usually in a good mood and up for anything. I love God! He is the best person to talk to and turn to when you have no one else. So basiclly I'm really easy to get along with except if your not a nice person I sense that pretty quick with just about anybody.
Well thats about all I can think to say right know and thanks for reading I promise the upcoming blogs will be better!
